Nars Under Cover Summer 2016 Collection: Picks & Swatches

Depending on how much or little you've read my blog, you may have noticed I am the #1 fan of Francois Nars. The Under Cover Summer 2016 collection launched on narscosmetics.co.uk in the last couple of days, but I nipped in a week or two earlier and bought my first picks from the new collection from Selfridges! I've since had time to play around with them, so I can let you know what I think.

I love, love, love the theme of the packaging. The retro-esque summer feel, hip illustrations are so pretty! The packaging of the individual products is matte black with the signature white "Nars", it's so chic! I love it. Actually, I love Nars in general...

Nars have released two new shades of their dual intensity blush for the summer: Liberation and Sexual Content. I opted for the latter, it's a pale peach and pink whereas the former is more of a hot pink alongside a darker pinky-red, so I thought the paler shade would better suit me.

I've got myself a nice sized collection of dual intensity blushes now, so it's safe to say I love them. I love the versatility of them! Essentially you're getting three blushes in one: you can use each shade of the duo individually, or you can mix them together. They're a really nice texture and very well pigmented. I love the duo Sexual Content; like I said, it's a pale peach and pink and combined together you get a really stunning pale pink shade that is incredibly flattering.

Nars have also come out with new liquid lipsticks, which I believe is a first for Nars (don't quote me on it, this is only as far as I'm aware!). They came out with four shades, two reds and two pinks. The reds look almost identical from swatches I've found online, so I opted just to buy the two pinks: Overheated and Get Dirty
L-R: Get Dirty, Overheated
Overheated is a really nice dusty mauve colour whereas Get Dirty is a purer pink. I got a lot of compliments on my lip colour when I wore Overheated! They're both gorgeous shades, though. Moreover, the formula is really nice. It is immediately opaque with one application, and is very smooth. On the lips, it feels really creamy and not drying at all. Unlike most liquid lipsticks these actually dry down to a demi-matte, more satin finish, which is definitely more Spring/Summer appropriate than the matte lip.

I think, knowing me and my undying love for Nars, I will more than likely pick up the other shades of blush and lipsticks available in this collection, identical reds or not! I tend to stray away from individual eyeshadows, I'm more of a palette girl. But when I see them in store the shades may (will probably) sway me! What have you got your eyes on from the new Nars collection?

Also, I now have a Facebook page. I'd really appreciate it if you gave it a like!
