What's New on my Vanity

Wow I can't believe it's been since March that I've posted What's New on My Vanity! I feel like I've gotten so much?! Anyway, here's what I've been purchasing!
I have a few too many MAC blushes than I care too admit and all of them are either peachy or neutral, and I wanted some more true pink shades, starting with this one. I love it! It's such a pretty, subtle girly pink.
A repurchase; I use this to bake. Because you use so much powder to bake, I wanted to use a high end but reasonably inexpensive powder so I'm not ending up repurchasing a, say, £40 powder so often! This one is £20, so I swear by it to bake. It does the job, and the price mark isn't excessively high.

I recently won Courtney's giveaway of MAC Brave. This had been on my wish list for a long time! And literally a day or two before I found out I won, I was saying to my boyfriend I wanted to go out to buy this lipstick, so I was thrilled when I won it! Winning something is always great, but it's even sweeter when it was something you actively wanted in the first place!
In my recent May Favourites post, I mentioned that I'd gone a bit OTT with my Tom Ford purchases of late.. here are the other shades I got. I'm a complete sucker for A) Lipsticks and, B) Tom Ford ... so, you know ... Plus, the Lips & Boys shades I picked have a very hint of metallic shimmer in them. Enough to be cool, not so much they're not wearable. LOVE!
I've loved Lolita and Lolita II for ages. In fact, one of my first ever blog posts were UK accessible dupes! Because they are difficult to get hold of over here, and I was placing a Sephora US order anyway, I chucked a couple into my basket!
I picked up my first shades of these lipsticks back when I had my original splurge on bits from The Estee Edit (view the post here!) and I fell so in love with them that I went back for more!
L-R: Estee Lauder In The Buff, Au Naturel, Tom Ford Derek, Daniel, Eddie, Temptation Waits, Kat Von D Double Dare, Bow N Arrow (sorry I forgot to swatch Brave!)

This is my favourite moisturiser, and this is the 3rd or 4th time I've repurchased this. I swear by it! It's very hydrating, but what I love most about it is it's smoothing and blurring properties. It always makes my skin look healthier and clearer, even when it's going through a rough patch. I love this. Let me know if anybody would like to see a post specifically on skincare!

L'Occitane Sublime Perfecting Toner
I was in the market for a new toner and this one is in the same range as the moisturiser which I love oh so much, so I thought I'd give this one a go! It's really reasonably priced at £15!

Nars sent me a deluxe sized sample of this, and I loved it so much I went out and bought myself a full sized one! However, unfortunately I've found I haven't liked it as much in full size. The wand is a little too big, and the teeth of the wand are so huge and far apart, whereas it's a lot more condensed on the smaller size. It makes my lashes look a bit spidery. I don't dislike this mascara as such, but I don't really like to wear it alone because it separates my lashes too much and makes them look thin. I always wear it in conjunction with another mascara to bulk it out, but I love the length it gives.

I haven't actually tried this yet. I know a lot of people wear it as a primer, but the Kiehls sales assistant advised me that it's most effective over makeup. One grievance with my skin is that I only need to have one minor pimple and all of a sudden, I swear, every bit of texture is visible on my face when I wear makeup. So I'm looking forward to trying it!

I already had this brush and I use it for powder, like applying under my eyes and carving out underneath where I've contoured my cheek bones. I bought another to use for shimmer highlighter - I hate mixing products on the brush! I love how it's nice and fluffy, and the tapered end makes it perfect for highlighting.

I've heard so much about this concealer, including that it's a dupe for my favourite ever concealer: the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I hate to admit, first impressions are that it isn't particularly a dupe for the Nars alternative, but it's not a bad drugstore concealer.

I've been meaning to get a Becca foundation for a while. I bought it in the lightest shade available but it's still a tad too dark, I can just about get away with it though. It'll be perfect for summer time, anyway, so at least I bought it at the right time of year! I've only used it at once but first impressions are that it's very light weight, but sheer coverage.

What have you been purchasing recently? Have you blogged about it? Let me know so I can check it out! Thanks for reading.

  2. Love the Tom Ford lipstick. So cool! The color look so great! I am completely obsessed with Paul & Joe Beauty. So pretty. I just treated myself with Kiko, although I had to do it on internet since there is no Kiko store in Edinburgh. xx
