Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Picks | REVIEW

My skin is prone to dryness so I'm always on the hunt for products that claim to hydrate. I won Burt's Bees Intense Hydration set a while back now, so I've had plenty of time to formulate an opinion of the line!

I mentioned the face wash in a monthly favourites previously and I am continuing to enjoy it. It has really tiny micro beads in it which makes for a great exfoliant. However, it has not replaced my other products. I use it on and off, mainly when my skin is feeling little sensitive. I know this product is very gentle so it's great for then! It's good, but not quite as a good as, for example, my Philosophy Purity Cleanser or my L'Occitane 2-in-1 sublime perfecting scrub.

Night Cream
I was really excited to use the night cream because I fell in love with the packaging! It's in a petite glass jar which I think is really cute. In terms of the actual product, it's beautiful and creamy and a little on the thick side, which I actually prefer for night time products. It makes it feel more like a facial, and the fact that it may have a thicker consistency isn't an issue because it has roughly 8 hours to sink in. Unfortunately this particular cream made me break out. I have no complaints in terms of the way it feels or smells etc, but obviously there's just something in there my skin does not like!
Whereas I like the thickness of the night time cream, I didn't like it for moisturiser. It is way too thick for my liking, to the extent it feels quite heavy and uncomfortable. It leaves my face looking greasy as well, which I hate. So I have to pass totally on this one. If your skin is very dry, you might enjoy it as a night cream. In terms of the packaging, personally I think it's kind of bulky. That being said, I do enjoy that it has a pump, I think that's more hygienic than dipping your fingers into moisturiser.

Overall I am disappointed with the whole line. I love Burt's Bees so I was really hoping to fall in love with their skincare. Just because it didn't work for me, it may work for you. And a little heads up: you get a free mini nourishing facial water with any order from https://www.burtsbees.co.uk at the moment!

  3. I have Dehydrated/ dry skin too and actually enjoyed using that cleanser, that's the frustrating thing about skincare. Even when it's meant to work for your skin type, everyone has different chemistry going on their skin, so it's a matter of trial and error.
