Organic & Fair Trade Rose Fresh Coconut Moisturiser | REVIEW

Last month, Tiana introduced me to their Rose Fresh Coconut Moisturiser, and I have been using it ever since. Tiana is, "an established UK importer, manufacturer and supplier of premium quality, organic and fair trade"* products.

www.tiana-coconut.com sells a handful of organic and fair trade beauty products, including their Rose Fresh Coconut Moisturiser.

It is an anti-ageing formula designed to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, which, although being only 20 I can't comment on specifically, it definitely has made my skin noticeably smoother. The overall texture is noticeably much better, so I'd definitely suggest it would have a great effect on more mature skin.  That being said, did you know that coconut oil - a key ingredient of this product - is a fantastic preventative treatment for premature ageing? It exfoliates without abrading the skin and just a thin layer can act like a barrier to dust and other environment pollutants, whilst still protecting skin's moisture, which is a significant cause of skin ageing prematurely**.
This moisturiser contains both raw cold pressed coconut oil and fresh organic coconut butter*. Coconut oil is well documented to do good things for the skin, just as examples: it keeps skin supple by promoting collagen formation, moisturises deeply and thoroughly, as well as keeping the skin clean. It is able to penetrate hair follicles on the face and dissolve hardened sebum**. Coconut oil is a moisturiser in it's own right, so you can imagine how effective this product is when combined with other wonderful ingredients.

Another ingredient being Rosa Damascena*, a rose oil, which also has a number of skin benefits. For example, a 2010 study revealed that rose oil destroys the bacteria responsible for acne. Another benefit is that it increases your skin's ability to absorb nutrients***, so not only is this ingredient good for you skin but it also increases the benefits of the other ingredients. "These exquisite ingredients are rich in natural antioxidants and active botanical nutrients"*.
The product begins as a solid in a jar, as coconut oil is solid with a similar texture to petroleum jelly at room temperature**. When it comes into contact with your skin, it melts - much like a balm - and feels so nourishing and hydrating. The sensation of it literally melting into your skin is so soothing and comforting. A pea sized amount goes a really long way, and absorbs into your skin quickly. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky at all, rather it makes your skin feel less starchy, dehydrated and dramatically more supple.
Although it doesn't feel greasy, it is evident that there is oil present on your face, so I only use this during the day if I'm not wearing my make up. However, it's so light weight that I do like to top it up as the day goes on to continue to soothe my skin and protect from environment pollutants (not a replacement for sun screen though!) I have been using it every single night as it feels beautiful.

I highly recommend this moisturiser. Not only does it have all these incredible benefits for your skin, but it is also 100% organic and fair trade. Not only that, it is also affordable at £15.29. Shop it now here

  13. That's really interesting. I have combination skin, but it loves oilier products; they seem to stop it producing too much oil of its own. So this looks like it could be a good bet for me. Thanks for the review!

  23. I love Organic products but i would never put Coconut oil on my face except as a makeup remover as it's so highly comedogenic.....it's about the worst thing for blocking pores.

  26. I'm loving coconut oil since I recently discovered how many uses it has, even a natural sexual lubricant! I'm not so keen on rose oil though as i find the smell quite overpowering and an irritant if on skin near my eyes
