June Favourites

As per usual, the first post of a new month is what I've been loving the past 4 weeks. Keep reading to find out what make up, skincare and fragrances I've been obsessed with lately!

I definitely think that the launch of the new Naked palette overshadowed this, I've barely seen it talked about. I'm totally loving it, though. I love how it's a handy little compact, that's double sided with creams and the other side has powders. Perfect for travelling! It covers everything; colour correcting, contouring and highlighting. Urban Decay have really hit the nail on the head with the shades, at least with the one I have (I got the shade light-medium). The pinky/peach cream shade is perfect to colour correct and brighten under my eyes. There's a warm toned and a neutral-cool toned contour shade, too.
I'm so impressed with the quality. As a contour kit, I actually prefer it over my Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kits. Yes, I actually did just say that! The powders are so pigmented and so easy to blend. They're very smooth and apply evenly, with no skipping or looking patchy. The only thing I will say though is that it's quite expensive at £40, although you do get 10 shades, the pans are quite small.

Yardley Bluebell Fragrance Mist*
I've been loving spritzing this all over, it's very fresh and light. This is the perfect fragrance for summer. The scent lingers all day, too. I've also been enjoying layering it with perfume. Because it's very light and girly it compliments most perfumes I put on top. I tend to wear the Bluebell mist all day, and then if I'm going out in the evening, I'll add a perfume.

Estee Lauder Nutritious Micro Algae Pore Minimising Tonic
I've had good experiences with products containing Algae so I decided to try out with this new tonic from Estee Lauder. It's formulated with oily skin in mind and I have dry skin, but anything to minimise pores I'm on board. It also contains alcohol which made me a little hesitant; the first time I opened the bottle it smelled of cucumber but after a couple of uses, I could smell the alcohol very strongly. However, I haven't found it dries out my skin and really has made a huge difference to the appearance of my pores around my T zone. I am a huge fan of tonics/essences etc, anything that's an additional step into cleansing/toning and what have you I tend to enjoy. I highly recommend this one if large pores are a problem.

Now that I'm showing a bit more skin thanks to the sun, I like it to look nice, not dry and flaky. I'm a little bit obsessed with using this sugar scrub in the shower lately, it smells delicious - containing blackcurrant, almond and shea butter - and leaves your skin smelling scrumptious all day long.
(I'm also an affiliate of Bloomtown, so use code "MILLIE20" to get 20% off anything you order)

Kat von D added some more shades to her famous line up of Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks, and I picked up Ophelia and Hawkwind. As always, the formula is really nice; it's opaque, has a really nice texture to it and I find it's really comfortable. Ophelia is a pale neutral nude, and I went a little out of my comfort zone with Hawkwind, a dark red/purple. I was surprised it's actually very wearable. I'm really enjoying both!

L-R: Kat von D Ophelia, Hawkwind, Soultree Kajal #11 Pure Black

Soultree Kajal Pure Black*
I love a Kajal for quick eyeliner, or for creating a smoky, smudged out look. I've been really enjoying using this one by Soultree, it's smooth, very opaque and richly pigmented. They're also 100% organic if you're looking for a natural alternative to eyeliners from more mainstream brands. The only thing I don't like about this is the packaging, it's very basic and I'm not a fan of the orange/black/silver combo.

Red Cherry Lashes Style #43*
I'm a total newbie to false eyelashes, but I love the way they look on others. To try out, I ordered Red Cherry Lashes in style #43 from falseeyelashes.co.uk. I chose that style because they're Jaclyn Hill's favourite (total fan girl, I know). They're really nice and fluttery and really easy to apply. I like how thin the band is, and that it's black, because it's easy to hide!

  3. I really want to try some of the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks, I do own a few dupes to them from other brands but I kind of just want the real thing, but right now I'm trying not to spend money on things I don't really need lol. I'm also loving the Soultree liners too, so easy to work with :) x
