July Favourites

August is here! I know this is going to sound really bad, but I'm so excited that we're onto the last month of summer! I am so ready for Autumn; cooler air, crunchy leaves, beautiful colours, and not forgetting my birthday (September 8th).

I think I may be getting ahead of myself! Anyway, here's my line up of what I've been loving in July.

Valentino Donna Acqua
This was a gift from my wonderful boyfriend. I adore it. It's such a stunning, feminine fragrance and I love the notes of almond in it. It really reminds me of a Bakewell Tart! Plus, I love the packaging. It's girly but edgy.

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Loose Powder
I bagged this little bargain for less than £10 in TKMaxx a few weeks ago. This is definitely a finicky powder to work with, in the sense it's not very versatile. However, if you use it correctly, it is stunning. I use it to set all over my face, pressing very gently all over with a powder puff. It literally makes my face look super velvety matte, without looking de-hydrated. It smooths over every crease and any texture effortlessly, and buffs in absolutely beautifully. However, like I said, this one is easy to mess up. I find it doesn't work well when you bake with it or you use it to set your under eye area and press to hard with a puff. Otherwise, it has to be said it's a beautiful powder!

Make Up Forever Colour Corrector Palette No.1
Another TK Maxx bargain - under a tenner as well! This palette has been in my every day make up routine for the entirety of the month; I use the green to colour correct over blemishes and hyper pigmentation, and it does so very effectively. I love mixing together the flesh toned shades to create my perfect, custom concealer to match my skin tone exactly, or to highlight subtly. Even if you can't find it reduced anywhere, I highly recommending investing in a concealer/corrector palette, they're a very useful tool to have in your beauty arsenal.

Pixi Make Up Fixing  Spray*
I've been using this to set my face lately, and I really like it. It's a really wet setting spray, not like a dry mist or just a hint of moisture, so this is fabulous if your skin is particularly dry. What I like about it though is that it 'flattens' any powdery areas, and takes away any foundation/concealer/powder that is clinging to dry patches or texture on my face. Not to mention the fact it makes my make up budge proof for the whole day!
Bobbi Brown Golden Light
This is my staple bronzer during the summer months. It's the most beautiful golden shade with tiny, hints of flecks of shimmer in it to warm up your face. It's so flattering and looks so natural. Plus, it's neutral toned so also adds a subtle contour when applied in the right places.

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops
I bought this ages ago but I accidentally bought a shade slightly too dark. I've got a slight tan to my face so I can finally use it regularly! I'm absolutely obsessed with it, and come winter I will definitely be purchasing it in a shade lighter also. As the name suggests, you can tailor it to suit your desired coverage. That being said, it is pretty full coverage to begin with so I find I don't need a lot. It builds up beautifully and doesn't become cake-y at all. It's got a beautiful demi-matte finish, so your skin doesn't end up look dry but also not overly dewy. This is a wonderful foundation, I highly recommend it!

Burts Bees Lipstick in Ruby Ripple* & Sunset Cruise
I've reviewed Burts Bees lippies on my blog before so you know I love the formula! I've found myself reaching for these two shades - Sunset Cruise and Ruby Ripple - more often lately (although I admit the latter is new to me, I still have been loving it enough to give it a mention!). Sunset Cruise is a stunning vibrant peachy coral; it's bright without being too in your face or overwhelming, it's super flattering. Ruby Ripple is a pretty, bright, jewel toned pink that is very summery also. Having the both of these makes for a perfect summer day-to-night duo; Sunset Cruise is slightly more neutral for the day time, and Ruby Ripple makes more of a statement for an evening out.

Too Faced Lip Oil Peach Fuzz*
If you'll find me wearing a lip gloss at all, it'll be summer time. I have been loving wearing Too Faced's Lip Oil in Peach Fuzz; it's a gorgeous cool toned, pale nude pink. I think it's really complimentary to my pale skin. It looks stunning with cool tones on the eyes too (pale greys, taupes, purples etc). This is a lovely gloss colour for everyday, and because it's an oil, it's very hydrating too. I was also very impressed with it's staying power, it stayed on for a good 4 hours without breaking up or smudging in the slightest.
Top to bottom: Burts Bees Ruby Ripple, Sunset Cruise, Too Faced Peach Fuzz
