What I Got For My 21st Birthday

Last Friday saw my 21st birthday, and I was absolutely spoiled rotten! I couldn't wait to write a post about everything I got.

I have such wonderful family and friends who made my day really special, although admittedly it was definitely overshadowed by my poor Granddad being ill, having recently been diagnosed with a rare form of arthritis. Understandably all of my family (including myself) were distracted but they still tried to make my day special. I went to see my Granddad too but he was on so much pain medication he wasn't really with it at all. I don't mean I resent it, it couldn't be helped and I was just as upset as everyone else, but it's very unfortunate it fell on my 21st. Thankfully my Granddad had a steroid injection the next day and has been much better, it's now just a case of finding the right pain medication for him.

Although the day was preoccupied by phone calls to my Granddads GP and visiting him etc, I can't be disappointed by the presents. What the day itself lacked in celebration, the presents made up for 100 fold. I was over the moon!
The star of the show was definitely a new car! This was a total surprise, I had no idea my parents had bought it for me, or that they had ever planned to! I am absolutely smitten with my new ride, a Renault Twingo Dynamique S. It's the most gorgeous cream colour (called "Oyster") with red and cream leather interior, or, as my parents called it, "rhubarb and custard interior". It is second hand, it's a 62 plate and has only done just over 40,000 miles. It's been kept in excellent condition,  It drives like an absolutely dream, it's so smooth! I love it.
My aunties and uncles clubbed together to buy me the stunning Radley purse that was on my wish list, it's so cute! It's even more pretty in real life than it is in photos! I love the colours, the beautiful print and the tactile soft leather.

My boyfriend totally spoiled me this year, too. He got me two Chanel liquid lipsticks, Lost and Libere. He also bought me the new Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wands (the light medium contour shade and highlighter) and the new Hollywood Complexion Brush.
My boyfriend - being the soppy git he is - also surprised me with flowers being delivered on the day. It was such a sweet gesture and they're beautiful!
My Nan has always bought her granddaughters a piece of jewellery on their 21st, and she bought me this beautiful ring, and had my birthstone - a sapphire - put in it. It is absolutely stunning! The jewellers she bought it from sells all gifted rings one size, and then the recipient can come in for it to be sized for them.
I also got a set of Yankee candles, the Beauty Blender Summer Fling trio, a stationary set (I have a pen pal) and - just what I asked for - some proper, old granny style moccasin slippers. I don't even care that they're the kind of thing my nan would wear, I think they're so cute, and so comfy! I was also gifted a £100 John Lewis gift card and the two Sali Hughes books I asked for - Pretty Iconic and Pretty Honest.

  1. Happy belated birthday! So many wonderful presents. I've always wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury products but they're so expensive. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
