On my bedside table

My bedside table is like a little shrine to a beauty regime! I struggle to sleep - not an uncommon problem, but frustrating nonetheless - but I have found that having a little routine does help me to wind down and get off to sleep easier.

Fushi Body Oil
Body oil has to be the most slept on (excuse the pun!) product. I used to think that it was just for summer days and dark tans, but I'm addicted. I keep this Fushi Rose and Jasmine Body Oil (which came in a gift set, but they have plenty of different body oils to purchase individually) by my bed to apply to my legs before going to bed. It's silky soft and feels so luxurious, it makes my legs feel incredibly smooth, which makes the most divine feeling when I get into bed and slip between the sheets. Who doesn't love the feeling of smooth legs on crisp sheets?! Plus, I do feel like long term, using a body oil has kept me skin hydrated. I haven't had any dry or flaky skin this winter - just saying!

Facial Oil
I like to apply more of a treatment facial oil earlier on in the evening, which can be typically more expensive (I mentioned my favourite in my blog post my current Winter PM skincare routine) so I use more sparingly. I start my evening skincare fairly early on, as soon as I get home rather than just before I'm going to sleep. But I like to top up quite generously as the evening goes on; applying a little more oil whenever my skin is feeling a bit parched right up until before I shut my eyes. So as not to waste my expensive products, I do top ups with cheaper alternatives. I'm currently alternating between The Inkey List Squalane Oil and Rosehip Oil, and I like to keep one on my bedside table for that final dash of moisture before turning off the light.
Lip Balm
I have lip balms littered everywhere, but especially on my bedside table! I'd hate to neglect my lips when it comes to my skincare routine. I'm currently using one I bought in Belgium.
Less for hydrating (although that's an added bonus) and more for the fragrance, I apply the Feather & Down Sleep Cream on my arms and décolleté before bed. There's something about the scent of this - a blend of lavender and chamomile - that is so relaxing to me and genuinely helps me get off to sleep. And not just get to sleep, but actually sleep deeply.

I am a sucker for a good hand cream. There's not a lot worse than that feeling of tight, dry skin on your hands. I always love to keep a hand cream by my me, especially to top up before bed. I'm currently using the Time Bomb cream.
Another weapon in my sleep artillery is this Neom Pillow Mist. The scent is layered with essential oils, including Lavender and Chamomile (my personal silver bullet when it comes to insomnia), Jasmine and Patchouli. I do struggle to sleep sometimes - especially finding a deep sleep. I have Overactive Bladder Syndrome (i.e I piss like a 90 year old woman who's had about 33 kids in her lifetime - TMI? Sorry) so my brain seems to have gotten into a pattern of periods of light sleep between getting up between 3 and 10 times a night to pee (yes, really...) I do try and do as much as I can help me sleep.

If you've learned anything from this blog post - it's that I smell good when I go to bed and pee a lot! ;)
