Make Up I'm Loving At the Moment

Make up is so much fun to play with, isn't it? I love trying new products - and discovering old favourites - to find the very best. Take a look at what I'm loving at the moment:
My current primer of the moment has to be this little Bare Minerals number. It has a silicone like feel to it, but without being thick. It actually has a thin, light weight texture and soft feel, and completely smooths over rough texture - which for me is across my nose - and minimises the appearance of large pores. Foundation applies on top of it beautifully, so I highly recommend.
Le Correcteur de Chanel
A very fancily named colour corrector with a fancy price tag to match, but worth every penny. I've been using this for years. It's a weightless concealer but the coverage packs a punch along with the peachy colour correcting properties. A tiny amount goes a very long way and always offers such a flawless finish. The light, silky liquid means you don't get that stark change in texture like you get with some other thicker concealers. Rather it melts into your foundation seamlessly to give a really naturally looking finish.

Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Foundation
My absolute favourite foundation at the moment is this Laura Mercier foundation. During the colder months I was a huge fan of their matte alternative, the Flawless Fusion Foundation, but now I'm embracing dewy, glowy skin. Flawless Lumiere is a light-medium coverage and gives a beautiful lit-from-within radiance. Despite the luminous finish, it's not greasy or oily, just a comfortable, natural looking dewy goodness!
Nars Super Radiant Booster
Another glowy must-have is this liquid highlighter from Nars. I love liquid highlighters in general because they're so versatile. You can wear them on bare skin to make your naked face look a bit more lively, mix them into your moisturiser or foundation, or apply it over your base onto the high points of your cheek bones. This Radiant Booster is a flattering a pale copper-y tone in a very blendable and buildable formula. You can apply it sparingly to just a hint of highlight or build it up for a beaming glow.

I did say I was embracing the glow didn't I?! This is a cream, sheer golden bronzer stick with lots of shimmer. I mostly like to use it as a subtle, fresh looking dewy highlight. I apply a little to the back of my hand in swirling motions (which warms the cream up a bit), then pick a little bit up on either the tips of my fingers or my beauty blender then tap it onto my cheek bones. When I want to add a bit of oomph to my bronzer, I'll tap it using a light hand over matte cream bronzer that's already blended in. It gives a subtle sparkle for a pretty summery glow!
Marc Jacobs Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder
My powder of the moment is this luxury loose powder from Marc Jacob. I actually bought it in Sephora when I was in Paris a couple of months ago and have been obsessed with it ever since. It melts into make up 'til it's practically untraceable, leaving a velvet-y looking, flawlessly smooth finish. Like, I can't stress enough how smooth it looks! It's even forgiving on dryer areas of my face, too.  It's also totally translucent so I don't find it has any ashiness or leaves a stark bright under eye. Definitely look into this one if you're on the hunt for a new setting powder!

I admit I don't use eye primer every day because I don't wear much eye make up most days and tend to just not need it. But my favourite at the moment is this Chanel pick, it applies transparently which I think is much more flattering than those chunky opaque, concealer-like primers, which I always find pick up on every crease and dry patch! It's very soft and smooth and I love how it creates a perfectly polished blank canvas for eyeshadow application.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadows
Like I've said, heavy eye make up on the daily is just not my vibe. I'm a big fan of using just a singular cream shadow, or two if I'm feeling fancy, and what Bobbi Brown has to offer has to be the best I've found. The shades Praline and Bronze Sugar are my favourite. I often wear Praline on it's own patted all over my eye right up to the crease for a natural look, and if I want to jazz it up a bit or want to change my look from day to night I'll add a little Bronze Sugar just to the lid. They wear all day without creasing but don't set feeling or looking cakey or heavy. They blend beautifully and layer really well together - definitely the best cream eyeshadows I've come across.

I love a good brow gel, and I've been finding myself reaching for this one a lot. First of all, the spoolie is tiny so you have a lot of control when you're brushing the pigment through your brow hairs. The actual colour pigments in it are very fine so they don't clump or grab anywhere, they apply very smoothly for a natural looking addition of colour. The actual formula is really nice and doesn't dry stiff or looking crunchy - I'm sure you know what look I'm talking about! And it really does make sure my brows behave themselves all day.
