Hounds & Hers September Box Review

Subscription boxes have become somewhat of a phenomenon over the last few years; I know I've walked into a friends house and seen a stack of freshly delivered pastel coloured parcels, filled to the brim with travel sizes and samples!

I think it's safe to say that we, as consumers, are inundated with subscriptions to choose from! But I've found one a little different from the rest: Hounds & Hers.

You may have already spied a couple of pictures on the blog here and there, but if you didn't already know, as well as being a beauty lover, I am the proud mummy of two pugs, Barney and Betty. My Hounds & Hers box incorporates these two loves of mine: my doggies and beauty. Let's take a look at my September box*:

I opened up an unassuming looking parcel to this beautiful packaging: bright pink, with the goodies inside wrapped in delicate white tissue paper.

For Hounds
Miss Teddy Faux Leather Lead
The box included this very chic faux leather lead from an independent business with an adorable start-up tale (get it? Tail?) about Miss Teddy the Maltipoo's mum making some glam garb for her beloved pooch. I may have (definitely did) spend an embarrassing amount of time browsing the website just in awe of Miss Teddy's modelling! Now I'm waiting for payday to treat Barney and Betty...

(sorry about the blurry photos below, I challenge you to try getting them to sit still!)
The Wholesome Hound Snacks
We also got a packet of Lavender, Oats and Chamomile biscuits from a brand previously unknown to me, called The Wholesome Hound. They're quite large star shaped biscuits and Barney is a big fan. Betty is less fussed but will eat it just to spite her brother (siblings, eh?)

For Her
Long Flint Rose Hip Gin & Tonic
This was the perfect product to include in a box for dog mamas, what better way to end a day of looking after two mischievous pugs than with a relaxing glass of G&T? This has a scrumptious fruity and fresh flavour, too! Fun fact: Rose hip is the fruit of the 'dog rose'! Is there anything better than a glass of delicious (and loosely canine themed) alcohol? (Yes: two glasses)

Coconut Lane Hair Rescue Mask
Last up is an in-shower treat for us! This hair mask is packed with hair loving ingredients including coconut oil, almond milk, caffeine and jojoba oil to nourish hair by restoring moisture and shine. Oh, and the smell is to die for.

I really enjoyed receiving this box, as did Barney and Betty! Plus, Hounds & Hers has a unique idea; I've never seen a subscription box like this!

If you want to treat yourself and your pooch to a monthly treat (or even just give one box a go with a one off payment, you don't have to be tied into a contract!) use code "MILLIE" for £5 off your first order.

  1. That has to be one of the most unique ideas for a subscription box I've ever seen! Wonder if they're planning on coming up with a "felines and females" version... ;)
