5 Beauty Products I Wish Hadn't Been Discontinued

I was recently cleaning out my make up stash and stumbled across some old favourites that have since been discontinued. I thought I'd share 5 products I really wish were still around...

Obviously the foundation, CC cream and lipsticks have now (sadly) been binned. Don't use make up that's no longer hygienic!

I've also included a couple of suggestions of similar products I love, as dupes that you can buy.
L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime CC Cream
I don't know for sure, but I'd hazard a guess that this was discontinued because it had bad reviews. Whilst this was one of my favourites, I can understand why this one may not have been everybody's cup of tea: It has a matte finish - albeit I didn't find it uncomfortable or drying - and an extremely pale cast. But it is the most effective CC cream I have ever used! So effective that, despite being transparent (just very white!) it somehow manages a coverage, of sorts. Honestly, it hides so much, and totally evens out redness.

Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation
Such a stunning foundation that I'm so sad to see go. It had very flattering medium coverage, beautiful skin-like finish with a subtle radiance to it. It made my skin look so naturally flawless!

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Brick Trio
This was a Christmas gift a year, or maybe two, years ago now. The palette itself was limited edition, but the shade on the far left - Gold - has never been seen again. I always get compliments when I wear it, and people are so disappointed when I tell them I'm wearing a shade of highlighter that you can no longer buy! I really hope Bobbi Brown brings it back individually, but in the mean time do check out their other shimmer brick shades, because the formula is magical!

Ciate Olivia Palermo Lipsticks
I am so upset to be saying goodbye to these lipstick shades! In collaboration with Olivia Palermo, Ciate created the perfect nude lipsticks a few years ago. They were incredibly comfortable matte lipsticks; they have a super smooth, plush matte finish and beautiful rich pigment. I'm going to miss these.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
I sort of was, and wasn't, surprised that Urban Decay decided to discontinue this iconic product. On the one hand, I was surprised because it's such a staple palette that they must have still been selling plenty of units. On the other hand, most of their new palettes dupe the original Naked palette to some extent, and they obviously want more attention on the most recent incarnations. Either way, the Naked palette has definitely retained it's status as an icon and I know I'm not alone in mourning it's production.

  1. I loved the original Naked palette and that Clarins foundation too. The main product that I really wish hadn't been discontinued is Armani Hydra Glow foundation x
