February Favourites

Very much unlike me, but I haven't actually worn make-up that often through February. I've had the flu, and if I haven't been ill in bed I've been trying to catch up from being ill in bed! Nonetheless, when I have worn make-up I've made a note of products that particularly stood out to me, that I've compiled into my February Favourites.

Bobbi Brown Matte Lipstick in Heather Mauve
I love Bobbi Brown's matte lipsticks. For me personally I find them the most mattifying out of all the "matte lipsticks" there are out there. Even better, they're not just non-drying, they actually feel moisturising. I love the way they feel to wear and the colour selection is impeccable, ranging all over the spectrum. I recently picked up Heather Mauve and fell in love with it, it's a dusty rose pink with brown undertone. I love that kind of shade (check out the swatches below...there's kind of a colour theme you'll probably notice...guess what my favourite lip colour is!) because it's so versatile; easy to wear everyday but also compliments a fully glammed up face.

Urban Decay Lipliner in Ex-Girlfriend
Recently launched as part of the Gwen Stefani collection, this lipliner immediately caught my eye. Given the colour theme running through my current lip faves as evident in the swatches, it's really no surprise! Moreover, I really love the quality of Urban Decay lipliner's, they're incredibly smooth and opaque! The product actually feels as soft as a creamy lipstick on your lips, so it's perfect to wear alone or as a base for your lipstick.

Chanel Lipgloss in shades Giggle and Beige Star
I've recently warmed to the glossy lip and have found myself delving into my small lip gloss collection far more often than normal, especially picking up these two. Beige Star is a soft, neutral nude and Giggle is a dusty pink. They're both absolutely gorgeous colours! The feel of the gloss is also very comfortable, it's very silky and not sticky at all. I love both of these as glossy toppers to an everyday lip.

Ciate Olivia Palermo Eyeliner Pencil in Black
I love a good eyeliner and I recently picked up this one. It's a wonderful texture! It's smooth and creamy but stays put on my waterline and doesn't smudge or run. It's a very true, opaque black too. The packaging is super pretty although a little unpractical, its a slim gold tube but the removable cap is the entire length of the pencil.

BH Cosmetics 122 Brush
Before I found this brush I'd always struggled to contour my nose. It's quite round and I just couldn't find the right brush to give me enough precision. The 122 brush by BH cosmetics is perfect though, its a very thin domed top brush, and the bristles are nice and firm, but they're lovely and soft which makes it easy to get precision but it's still easy to blend. I find I'm easily able to contour my nose using this brush.

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 03 Natural
I bought this on an impulse because it was on sale - from over £30 to £18, so I just snapped it up. When I first looked at it I thought it was a little orange, and when it first applied it still looked too dark. But when it's blended out it's the most gorgeous bronzer even on my pale NC15 skin. It gives the most beautiful, warm, sun kissed glow. I love it so much! It's definitely going to be my go-to bronzer as the weather gets warmer because its so summery.
Lush Eau Roma Water Toner Water
My boyfriend actually bought this for me a while ago and it's recently resurfaced into my skincare routine. I already have a staple toner but I use this one over the top of it before I moisturise. I love using this just before prepping my skin for make-up. It feels so refreshing, and it's incredibly moisturising and hydrating. I'm not sure why I ever let this little beauty slip out of rotation - I love it! The smell is also so gorgeous, I can't quite describe it except that it reminds me of the summer and the beach.

What were you February favourites?

  1. ooh great post - your lipstick choices are just perfect and all go together! I would have to say that my favourite lipstick for the month of February would definitely be MAC 'Brave' - been on my lips every day!

    1. My friend wears Brave all the time and it looks so beautiful on her but every time I swatch it or try it on myself, it doesn't look good! :( I think my lips are too naturally dark to pull of that kind of sheeny colour. x
