20 things I've learned in 20 years

I've scheduled this post for my 20th birthday, so when you read this, I'll be 20! I see a lot of people doing this type of post, and to be honest, at first I thought it was just a blogging cliche that I had no intention of joining in on. But once the idea had gotten into my head, I couldn't get it out of there. So here we are: 20 things I've learned in 20 years.

1. Asking for help is nothing to be ashamed of.
2. Don't take criticism blindly. If somebody describes you negatively, think about it: is it true? You know yourself best, you know your intentions and the meaning behind your actions.

3. People cannot be "toxic". There's no need to blame an individual for the breakdown of a relationship.

4. Be spontaneous!
5. It's important to take time to relax

6. Disagreeing isn't being impolite.

7.  Changing your mind is okay.
8. Having a hobby is really important for your mental wellbeing.

9. True and loyal friends will always understand.

10. Try to let go of grudges.
11. Actively work towards not isolating yourself; being alone is a choice.

12. Walking is a really good way to let go of stress and clear your mind.

13. Always keep a goal in mind.
14. Get outdoors as much as you can

15. Appreciate family days
16. Time with your friends is really important, too.

17. Make time for reading books for pleasure.

18. Say "yes" as often as possible.
19. Never be afraid to ask questions.  Questions are good: keep learning.

20. Don't be afraid to challenge things you don't agree with; as long as you're tactful and polite, stay true to your opinion.

I know this post was a little different for me, but as I said, I really couldn't stop thinking about it. It was actually quite nice to reflect.

Make sure to check out my recent beauty posts! I reviewed the new Anastasia stick foundation and contour, rounded up my August favourites, and posted on my most recent photo shoot
