I adore Nuxe and the brands ethos of bringing together nature and luxury beauty. I'm a big fan of their skincare range infused with rose petals, and have been using a handful of products from it pretty much every day recently.
I'll review them in the order that I use them during the day:
Foam Cleanser
Whenever I see the word "foam" in a cleanser, it instantly gets a red flag. It's a well known skincare 'rule' - if you will - products that foam belong in your sink, not on your face. This product begins as a very soft, delicate feeling foam with a mousse-y texture. It melts onto the face almost instantly. I don't know this for certain, it's only speculative because of my experience with cleanser, I think you should avoid products with a foaming property. I.E, that they start as a liquid or a cream, and then lather up and become a foam on your face. I really enjoy this cleanser, it's feels and smells very nice and leaves my skin feeling really fresh.
Micellar Water
I first mentioned in this post how I use this when I'm feeling particularly lazy. I keep the bottle and a jar of cotton pads by my bed, so that when I can't make it to the bathroom to do my full cleansing ritual - whether that be because I've just got in from work and I'm about to collapse, I'm drunk or not feeling well - I cleanse my face with this. I generally avoid micellar cleansers, but this one I do use, albeit only when I really have to. It smells very nice, and I feel the rose petals have a calming quality both in the way they work on the skin, and the scent of them is relaxing. I also find this to leave my skin noticeably soft and comforted, and it doesn't feel sticky or leave a film.
Cleansing Milk
I use this during my evening cleansing ritual, after using my Clinique 'take the day off' products, which you can read my review on here. It feels so wonderful on the skin, it's cooling, calming and soothing. It feels so silky smooth and just sinks into the skin. I love using a cleansing milk as my 'main' cleanse in my nightly routine, I feel it gets the bulk of the make up/dirt etc from the day off whilst still being soft and soothing. If you have sensitive skin you'll love cleansing milks in general, but especially this one; the rose petals make it very gentle. The only thing I don't like about this product is that, because it has a pump with no lid, there's always a little bit of dried cleanser inside the tip of the dispenser. It's just a minor thing.
Toning Lotion
This has not replaced my First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads (which I recently included in my skincare empties), but instead has become the very final stage in my cleansing ritual. I use it after the cleansing milk to take off any lasting residue of the cleansers. Cleansing is the most import thing skincare wise, so anything that is an extra cleanse is always welcome. I am really enjoying this. I still using my FAB Pads as they contain acid, however if you are sensitive to glycolic acid or acid in general, you'd very much find this toning lotion useful for every single day.
Also in the Rose Petal collection which I haven't tried is a clarifying cream facial mask, cleansing gel, gentle face exfoliator and a cleansing oil. I am really liking how gentle these products are! Although I don't feel like my skin is sensitive anymore since Ive introduced acids into my routine, I love how they leave me skin feeling comforted and soothed.

What are your favourite Nuxe products?
I received the Micellar water from Love Me Beauty, and the rest directly from Nuxe UK.
(Both were competition wins and not PR samples, but this is not reflected in my view of them.)
I really want to try the micellar water!

I've an eye contour from this brand and it's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the smell of rose, so this won't be for me!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the foam either, and with my sensitive skin I'd rather pass.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that there was any rules about using 'foam' products but I will definitely take your word for it. The only foam product I've ever come across is from the Body shop, it was a tea tree foaming cleanser and it was so watery that I couldn't get along with it. It left my face feeling so sticky. Saying that though I've never tried any Nuxe products but the shimmering oil looks amazing. Is it just me that's drawn to products that look pretty? x x x
