The glitter lips trend has been sweeping the beauty world of late, and I thought it was about time I jumped on the band wagon and gave it a go! I opted to try the glitter lips sets from independent British beauty brand (because you know how I feel about #ShopIndependent) Beauty BLVD.
I'm going to say it straight off the bat - you know what? I'm surprised at how much I like this glitter lips trend! The shades, and look in general, is actually quite easy to wear. Check out how cool it looks!:

As for application, that was a pleasant surprise also. It's super easy. The glitter glue provided is obviously perfectly safe for your lips, but it doesn't feel like it's sucking the life out of them, either. You apply the glue and then wait for it to go transparent, and then - doing one lip at a time - press on the glitter with the applicators. You get a sponge side, which I used for the centre of my lips, and a flat brush, which I used to apply the glitter precisely in the smaller areas of my lips, like the outer corner and cupid bow.
And this stuff stays on all day. Seriously. I could rub my fingers across the glitter and yeah, there'd be little flakes come off, but it'd still look opaque on my lips. Now that's some impressive staying power! Because of this, I was definitely expecting a fight to get it off, but it wasn't too bad. I used a cleansing wipe soaked with my DHC Cleansing Oil (review here).

Overall I am totally on board with glitter lips! Have you tried wearing glitter? What did you think?

ReplyDeleteI love it, it's so bold! I assume that since the glitter is ok for the lips it's ok for the environment too, though I'll have to look into it further. I've never tried wearing this, but you make it sound easy :).
