October Beauty Favourites

It's November! I don't know about you but I can definitely feel the Christmas spirit creeping up on me, I'm so excited about all the Christmas content coming up. But for now, take a look at what I was loving last month:

Make Up Forever Hydrating & Anti Redness Primers
I've loved MUFE's smoothing primer for ages, and I recently picked up this duo for the bargain price of £7-something pence each (usually around the £14 mark) in TK Maxx. I find the green one is really great at reducing the appearance of red skin, and I really love the way my skin feels after application of the hydrating primer. I tend to use these together, applying the hydrating primer all over my face and the anti-redness just over any blemishes or pigmentation. Great combination that preps my skin to make my make up last all day!

Laura Geller Colour Correct Perfecting Balm*
Talking about colour correcting, I've been using this stack of colour correcting balm from Laura Geller a lot lately.  The stack includes a blue, green and peach colour correcting balm, for counteracting yellow sallowness, redness and dark/blue areas respectively. I really have been finding them effective, especially using the green over pigmentation and peach on my under eye bags. I love the texture and consistency of these colour correctors, they're really easy to pat and blend into the skin and they're very thin so product doesn't clump or cake under foundation. If you're looking for a colour corrector, definitely look into this one!

Bobbi Brown Bobbi To Glow Highlighting Trio
I think this beautiful product speaks for itself. Look at those beautiful highlighters! I can't get enough of them, they're absolutely gorgeous! Flattering, non-chunky and totally buildable. And it's in gold packaging, can't go wrong.

Kiko Asian Touch Liquid Lipstick & Lip Liners
I have been obsessed with Kiko's Asian Touch Liquid Lipstick in the shade #01 Plushy Red*! It's beyond beautiful; a true blue undertone red in a light weight, opaque formula that wears really, really well. It's opaque instantly, dries down to matte finish and I find it to be really comfortable to wear. The packaging is really quirky, I thought it looked more like a nail polish?!
I also love the Asian Touch Lip Liners*, I use the corresponding red lip liner with the liquid lipstick and, although the shade #02 Silky Burgundy didn't work for me in the lipstick formula, I've been loving the lip liner! The lipstick was a bit too dark, too purple and too bold for me but the lip liner is great for under darker toned lippies. The liners have so much glide to them and offer such a soft, opaque colour, to be honest I'd quite happily wear them alone. I like the look of the packaging although I don't find it practical, they're much longer and thiner than any ordinary lip liner (I think to emulate chop sticks?) so, although you might be getting a bit more product, they're difficult to store, I've found. They don't fit in my standard lip liner tub!

Kiko Asian Touch Blush #01 Aspirational Rose *
Another great pick from the Kiko Asian Touch range, I've been loving using this liquid blush for an everyday, feminine sheer wash of colour to the cheeks. It's definitely buildable though if you prefer a stronger blush, which I do sometimes. However I'd definitely recommend this product to the folk that don't like wearing blush (I know you're out there!), as this can be applied quite sheer if you like it that way. I love the applicator too, it's quite a small sponge which makes it easy to apply.

I'm also planning to run a best of 2017 giveaway soon, with a bundle of some of my favourite products I've featured on the blog over the year. What are your favourite posts and products you'd like to see?

  1. Oh dear I am just enjoying reading your blog. Beautiful pictures and everything is so systematic. I need to try the MUFE step 1 primer that I have always been wanting to. And need that Bobbi Brown highlight palette. It's so pretty the Kiko polish and blush are so pretty. :-)
