My Rodial Skincare Favourites

Recently, I've been using a lot of Rodial in my routine. I first became interested in the brand when I saw a couple of products at a bargain price (which you can find out more about here) and have been pretty much, well, hooked.

Over the past couple of months, I've noticed a marked improvement in my skin. My acne has gone away, the pigmentation is clearing up and the texture of my skin is soft as ever. I think a lot of factors goes into improving your skin so I'm not suggesting this improvement is solely because of these products, but I do think they must have had an input for obvious reasons!

Here's my break down of all the products I've been using, and why I love them so much:

Super Acids Cleanser
This is a slightly foaming cleanser and it is a little on the drying side to me, as I have dry skin. That's not to say it's made my skin persistently dry (i.e flaky and feeling tight), but it does feel a little taught immediately after cleansing, so I just make sure to balance it out with a good hydrating serum (see my recommendations here). I usually try to avoid cleansers that make my skin feel like this however for me, the benefits of the ingredients are enough for me to continue to use it. It contains glycolic acid and pronalen fruit acid (excellent exfoliants), pomegranate (boosts collagen production) and lactic acid (to smooth). I try to use this every other day because I already use a lot of acids in my skincare routine and don't want to overdo it (plus, the drying factor). This is a cleanser that leaves your skin feeling really clean. You know that feeling when you've rinsed off the cleanser and your skin actually feels bare - in a good way. I really like that!

Stem Cell Super-food Cleanser
This is my favourite out of my two Rodial cleansers. The thick, whipped formula is so pleasant to use and feels very soothing on my skin, it melts in straight away and once you add water it because super silky. I opt for this when my skin is particularly thirsty and needs nourishment. Take a look at the ingredients to see why:
Marula Oil: anti-oxidant and skin conditioner
Coconut oil: anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant and smooths the skin
Cocoa butter: cleanses and nourishes
Stem Cell: protects against environmental stressors and improves the skins barrier
This cleanser can also be used as a mask for an extra boost of hydration. One of my favourite things about this cleanser? It's huge. You get a 200ml tub, which I think makes this product really good value, and you can't go wrong with that!

Super Acids Scrub
I do like a good scrub once or twice a week, and this is one of my top picks. It's not excessively abrasive but gets the job done, I do notice a difference in the texture of my skin immediately after use and, of course, long term. This also contains glycolic acid and salicylic acid - the latter known for it's ability to tackle blemishes.

Super Acids Exfoliating Pads
I used these as a toner every other day; they are nice exfoliating pads but they're not my favourite. At the time I started using these, I'd had an acne flare up and it was the ingredient salicylic acid which made them so appealing. Now that my skin has cleared up I won't be reaching for them too often but it's good to know they work for me, for future reference! The reason they're not my favourite is because: a) they get a little soapy - if you put too much pressure on them they actually lather up, just a little, which can leave my skin feeling wet and sticky and, b) they're too wet. With other exfoliating pads I massage them over my face until the pad is totally dry, but these are so wet you can't do this. Not only does this probably contribute to the residue issue, but I also feel like I'm wasting product. But, like I said, ultimately they did work.

Stem Cell Super-food Booster Oil
This oil serum has had the biggest impact on my skin. For starters, I noticed a huge difference in my hyper pigmentation when I started using this. It's rich in Vitamin C which has really helped the repairing process, and it's visible, too. Now that my skin tone is more even, I can really see the other benefits of my skincare (my whole routine, not just Rodial products), like how much brighter my skin looks, how plump and hydrated it looks - which no doubt this product contributed to, also. I'm so glad I found this serum because I've struggled to find a solution to my pigmentation for what feels like a year now and within two weeks of using this, I saw a difference. Not to mention how hydrating it feels!
