Haircare Must-Haves

Listen, hair isn't my domain. Never has been, never will be. I don't really know that much about hair care and I will never be that person that spends more than a few pounds on shampoo. But, nonetheless, I have been making a concerted effort lately to look after my hair.

So I thought I'd share on the blog what products I've been enjoying lately. None of them break the bank, they're all novice friendly and, of course, they're recommended by yours truly! ;)

Let's start with wet hair: for the past month, I've been using Time Bomb Hair Thickening Supplement*. I have naturally thick hair so was a bit wary of this leave-in treatment, but I love the way it makes my hair look. It leaves my hair looking healthier and fuller, bouncier and less..dead. I love it. I've also been loving Argan Oil for hydrating my hair and for making it shiny, I'm currently loving the Phil Smith Total Treat Argan Oil*.

The miracle for drying hair is the Aquis Hair Towel*, a towel made with special water absorbing fibres that makes drying my hair 1000x times easier. You can read my full review here.  When my hair is still wet or damp, I'll brush it through painlessly and easily with the Tangle Teezer Wet Brush
What about styling when my hair is dry? For dry hair, I prefer to use the IKOO Brush. I'm really loving curling my hair right now, with my ghd Curve. To protect my hair, I use the ghd Heat Protectant Spray*. I also use Aveda's Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair if my hair has been through a lot over a few days - like if I'd curled or straightened my hair for several days in a row! If I want to give my hair a lush, shiny finish, I spritz a little American English Seaberry Dry Oil* in my hair. It's a really nice finishing touch.
If my hair is getting a bit greasy but I don't want to wash it yet, I dust a little Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder in my hair. This is especially great for when my hair is already curled and I don't want to wash the curls out, because it also breathes a bit of life back into the style, too. For when my hair needs a day off (or when it's temperatures like these and I just need my hair out of my face!) I tie it up, but traditional hair bands can be painful and weaken your hair. I am a big fan of Popbands, which are much more gentle on your hair and head - and they look so much prettier, too!

  1. That hair towel sounds so handy - especially in this heat when using the hair dryer risks melting to death!!!
