July Favourites

Over a week into August and I'm only just posting my July beauty favourites! This is honestly unheard of for me, but you can read why I've been so crap at blogging if you're curious as to why.

To add to yet another reason to slack on the blogging front, I'm currently in Edinburgh with my boyfriend and his family, for his older sisters wedding this Saturday. We're here for the whole week though, so it's mine and Sam's holiday, really. Make sure you're following me on Instagram to see what we get up to whilst we're here. I digress, on with what beauty products I was loving in the month of July:
I've really been enjoying this lately. The gel formula is very refreshing, and it's nice and gentle and doesn't lather too much, or leave your skin feeling dry and tight. Rather, it leaves my skin feeling very clean and 'detoxed', and I do think my pores are clearer and minimised since using this over 2 or 3 weeks. I really recommend this, it's just a gentle, does-what-it-says-on-the-tin cleanser.
This is a weird one, isn't it? This powder feels like a cream. It's very cool to the touch, and feels kind of wet on the skin. It melts into foundation much like a second skin, and sets it without the dryness and cakey-ness of typical loose powders. It's really hard to over do it with this powder because of the nature of it! I love to take a fluffy powder brush and dust it all over my face as a hydrating, refreshing finishing touch, that will also ensure my make up doesn't budge. I was surprised to find that this wasn't a gimmicky product, but it actually is very hydrating and comfortable for us with skin prone to dryness and dehydration.
You can see more photographs and a swatch of this product in my post about the Too Faced Peaches and Cream collection. I've been reaching for this a lot during the warm weather. The flecks of pink in the powder adds a really beautiful warmth and glow, that is oh-so Summer appropriate. It's actually a matte finish, so it's a great alternative to a shimmery bronzer that might emphasise any sweatiness in this heat. This is a great pick for a beach-babe, sunkissed look, but without looking like you're melting.
Speaking of products that do well in the heat, this is fab. I am posting a full review on it very soon so won't go into too much detail, but what I will say is that, not only is the packaging bloody adorable, but this foundation offers beautiful medium coverage that's not too matte, not dewy either, it looks like skin. It's totally weightless and holds up incredibly against sweat! It really does last all day and feels really comfortable. Something I did note in particular about this foundation is that it plays well with others. Other products layer on top of it really well, powder sits beautifully on it, cream melts into it really nicely, etc. Love this!
I'm a recent tinted lip convert. Ordinarily, you're much more likely to find me in a full matte liquid lip to be honest, but since I've picked up Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in the shade Hibiscus, I haven't put it down. It's such a punchy plumby-pink, that looks really juicy and fruity and is perfect for Summer. It feels really comfortable and hydrating, too.
