September Favourites

So this post is coming a little late, because I've been having my room decorated so I've not had anywhere to actually take any photos. But without any further ado, let's chat about my September beauty favourites.

Whilst the newest addition to the Benefit mascara family (Bad Gal Bang) has never tickled my fancy, I must admit I am a hardcore fan of They're Real! (and Rollerlash). I'm loving They're Real! at the moment because it's great at lengthening and separating my lashes, and makes them look pretty and fluttery, which is perfect for everyday. I haven't struggled with any clumping issues with this mascara either. The very sparse 'teeth' (is that what they're called? I have no idea - hopefully you know what I'm talking about) on the wand are also great at wiggling between the lower lashes, too!
Dermalogica Pre Cleanse*
I'm currently using this to remove my make up of an evening. It's an oil with a very watery consistency, so it feels very gentle. Obviously being an oil, it's not drying at all and leaves my skin feeling very soft and clean, rather than stripped and dry. I especially recommend this if you have dry skin, but even so, it removes make up really effectively. An added bonus is that it smells lovely! Subtly lemon-y, without smelling like dish soap!

My daily moisturiser of choice recently has been this Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream. I love the consistency of this product, it's not too thick, it's not a thin gel; it's just a nice, rich, light weight moisturiser.  This is a no-nonsense product in my eyes, it's not claiming to be all singing all dancing with ridiculous claims about what it'll do for my skin. It's a moisturiser: it moisturises. It's very calming on the skin, and, as the name would suggest, smoothing. It leaves my face feeling very soft and comfortable, so this is a winner! This is my go-to especially if my skin is a little hormonal and aggravated, because it's reliable.

I always love a good eye primer, because my eye lids tend to get just a little bit oily throughout the day. An eye primer keeps this at bay, so I use it, even if I'm not actually putting any eyeshadow on, just to keep it matte and smooth. I'm loving the Chanel La Base because it's completely transparent, so it does the mattifying, smoothing job but without the pigment. The thing with concealer-like eyeshadow primers, for me, is that they tend to be prone to crunching into creases. This primer being completely sheer eliminates that problem altogether!
I am head over heels in love with this pair of highlights from Pixi, in the shades Subtle Sunrise and Delicate Dew. They look pigmented in the pan and swatch very metallic-y, but honestly, on the face they look wet. Like, beaming with just a skew of colour. I really love them, the colour isn't overwhelming but the highlight is bloody beautiful. Plus, you obviously get two pans in one product so you get quite a lot of product for your money. The shades mix together beautifully, as well!
Now, if you saw me unboxing the PR package in my Instagram stories recently, you know I've only had this shade a week or so, but seeing as I've had a few more days to play around with product (what with my room being redecorated and all), I really have had a chance to fall in love with this shade. So, sorry if it's cheating, but I really wanted to include it. This is the perfect neutral toned nude, and what can I say? I'm in love. I've worn it like, every day.
This was a birthday present from my mum. I asked for it instantly after trying a sample. It is one of those really lingering scents, but it's not overpowering. But when I move my arms or what have you, I just get a fresh wash of fragrance. It's so lovely. It's subtle, feminine - it's just gorgeous.
For night time, this overnight mask from Origins has to be my staple. It's a rich, creamy formula that feels luscious. You can really feel the apricot and avocado oils in this formula - it kind of 'coats' the skin in a way that feels really nice - but not in a greasy way. It's enough to feel like you've got something on your face (which I love at night time). I definitely feel like this product restores hydration. This is an absolute must for me if I know my skin is feeling on the drier side, I always know I'm going to wake up with my skin feeling much more nourished and comfortable. I am a big fan of acids of an evening, I know some people prefer to use acids every other night, but I use them for 3/4 days consecutively, then have a break. This mask is always my 'break' product, it's so gentle and lush that it just feels so right
