Top 10 Multi Tasking Skincare Must-Haves

I call them 'one and done' products: just a single product that can gets multiple jobs done. An oil that's good for face, body and hair? Gimme! A moisturiser that can be layered thick as a face mask? Need!
So today I'm talking about multi tasking skincare products I adore. They're especially good for summer time because if you're going on holiday, having one product that does it all makes packing light easier. After all, why take three products when you can take one?

Pixi Peel and Polish
I recently spoke about this in depth here, so I won't go in to too much detail but this is a mechanical exfoliant, chemical exfoliant and face mask all in one. You can massage the grainy textured papaya into your face to buff off dead skin cells, then rinse it right off. Alternatively, you can leave it on for 10 minutes like you would a face mask to let the lactic acid get to work on the deeper levels of your skin for a more thorough exfoliation. You can then gently flannel it off, or massage it as you rinse it off to get the effects of the papaya, too. This is one of my favourite physical exfoliants!
Magic Organic Apothecary Green Balm
This is one of my favourite products ever. For starters, it's very reasonably priced. The cleansing ritual - which includes a muslin cloth and the Green Balm in a beautifully illustrated recyclable cardboard tube (you can see photos in this previous post!) - is only £22. This is the best cleanser for irritated and angry skin. Whilst my spots tend to be hormonal, I'll admit I'm a spot prodder/picker/squeezer - which isn't the best for not spreading bacteria around the rest of my face. But it's a compulsion okay?! Most of us do it, don't judge me! The Green Balm is a great place to start to prevent the spread of bacteria because it contains tea tree oil (which is antibacterial). The antibacterial properties also make it ideal to put on burns, insect bites, athletes foot etc. Enriched with coconut oil (so great for removing make up!), sunflower oil and beeswax makes it very hydrating and ideal to apply on to dry areas of skin like heels and hands.
Fushi Sea Buckthorn Oil
Sea Buckthorn oil is a fabulous multi taker - just this 50ml Fushi oil alone has so many different uses.  It can be used on the body, face and - my personal favourite way to use it - on the hair (it's an overnight miracle hydrator!). Known for it's antioxidant properties and high fatty acid content, Sea Buckthorn oil makes for the perfect facial oil - although it does have a strong orange hue to it, but it can be diluted with another oil or just used as a nightly skincare treatment (which I do). The natural orange colour also has it's benefits: this product can also be used to give a subtle fake tan effect. This Fushi formulation is even suitable for ingestion and supports the heart, digestion and blood sugar balance.
Dr Lipp Nipple Balm*
They say good things come in small packages. And this little grey tube is small but mighty. If you're confused about the name, it was originally formulated with 100% medical grade Lanolin as a nipple balm for breastfeeding women. The formula stays the same but the uses have definitely evolved! It is now my staple lip balm, can be used to treat sore skin like burns and scrapes, hydrate dry cuticles and split ends - and is even a firm favourite in my make up bag, too! It can be used as lip gloss, eye gloss, eyebrow gel and as a treatment primer for rough skin. Dr Lipp has also added natural pigments to their original formula  to create their lip tints - essentially the same, but with a pop of colour!
Dr Paw Paw Original Balm
A blend of pawpaw, olive oil and aloe vera oil makes this super smooth multi-purpose balm a must have on every vanity/bedside table/ get the picture! I keep it by my bed and use it mainly as a hand cream and lip balm - but I'll also toss it in my make up bag and use it for a natural-but-groomed brow look by applying it to a spoolie and brushing it through my brows. It can also be used on hair, cuticles, grazes, dry heels and elbows - and just about anywhere else that needs a little TLC!

Bee Good Nectaperfecta Mask
Inside this luxurious golden bee adorned tub is a gorgeous multi-purpose balm. Not only is it a brilliant face mask - packed with AHAs to exfoliate the dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin for a brighter, clearer complexion - it can also be used on other areas of the body including hands, elbows and feet if they're in need of a quick boost of hydration. It can also be massaged into the scalp if that's in need of a little love too. Leave it on overnight for a more intensive treatment (that includes on the face too!) This is a great pick if you're a big fan of natural and ethical beauty too: Bee Good use ethically sourced bee ingredients including beeswax and honey (the latter packed with anti-oxidants, did you know?), as well as other natural skin loving ingredients like sunflower oil, camomile and fruits.
Frances Prescott Tri-Balm
As the name would suggest, Frances Prescott's famous Tri-Balm is a triple threat: it is a cleanser, exfoliant and moisturiser all in one handy balm condensed into one travel friendly twist-up stick. It can be used as a cleanser to remove make up and flannel off to reveal a baby soft and brighter complexion. It is an exfoliant too, containing pumpkin enzymes - which can be left to work their magic while you cleanse, or left on like a face mask for a deeper exfoliating treatment. Enriched with hyaluronic acid and plant oils, it can also be used as a nourishing moisturiser to leave your skin hydrated and glowing all day long. It's a wonder that this unassuming little stick can do so much, it really is the ultimate travel friendly multi tasking skincare product!

Charlotte Tilbury Multi Miracle Glow
What CT has to offer is a 3-in-1 cleanser, mask and SOS balm - all in just this one generous tub of silky pink gel.  As a cleanser, it transforms to oil and gently removes remnants of make up with frangipani flower, rose hip and camellia oil. Leave it on for a few minutes to deeply nourish your skin with vitamins A, C and E to achieve hydrated and glowing skin. Finally, if you find yourself with parched cuticles, this will hydrate them back to full health! This gorgeous, cashmere soft cream is price-y but well worth it to achieve luxuriously hydrated, soft and plump skin.
Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm
This little pink pot of goodness is packed with plant extracts and oils - including avocado and rosemary - formulated with the driest of skins in mind. It can be applied on the face (including after make up for a natural, glossy glow) on hands, heels, lips - you name it!

Pixi Rose Flash Balm
There's been a lot of balms in this round up, but despite the name, this is actually more of a rich, creamy treatment. This can be used as a make up primer, hydrating face mask or a moisturiser on it's own. With a light floral fragrance thanks to being formulated with rose water and rose extract - which also work to brighten the skin - this is an extremely nourishing skin softener thanks to being rich in olive leaf extract, as well as witch hazel to sooth. This may also be a better pick for those with oily skin because it's 100% oil free.
